Turtle Season Starts in the Caribbean

Parque Nacional Tortuguero: Called Costa Rica’s Amazon, this region is truly away from it all. Tortuguero has no roads, cars, traffic lights, smog or malls. Instead, there are canals, rivers, the Caribbean Sea, beaches, sea turtles and forests. This combination of elements will afford you an unforgettable connection with nature. Location: Limon, North Caribbean. Search our site for more information on the area, and visit our gallery on Tortuguero.

Turtle-nesting season has begun, and thousands of green turtles are expected to arrive to lay their eggs. The spectacle of a giant sea turtle pulling herself out of the surf, digging a hole and then dragging her exhausted body back to sea is truly a must-see while on the Caribbean.
